Many readers are confused and shocked by the novel as there is a distinct lack of likeable characters and there is much violence. New Criticism was a complicated formulaic style that often utilized dense symbolism, paradox, irony, tension and ambiguous meaning, all hallmarks of O’Connor’s writing. New Criticism also professed that a work was to have a high degree of unity and self-containment. If we see Wise Blood through both O’Connor’s religious sensibility and its permeation in New Criticism, the structure and meaning of the novel fall more easily into place. Haze Motes, (note the symbolism of his name hazy vision and mote in the eye) is a the epitome of the religiously obsessed individual. The more he professes unbelief, the more unsure and shortsighted he becomes. The ultimate paradox occurs in his blinding, when he finally realizes his need for redemption. The text is rife with symbolism, much of it religious. The sky is permeated with clouds that look like a simplified God’s beards and curls, roadside pigs that are symbols of the devil, a shrunken man who was a symbol a false idol, an old Essex which was symbolic of a search for meaning and homecoming, and glasses that obscure vision. Some critics see the novel as a condemnation of modernity in its cult of shallow self-absorption and nihilistic pursuits. Haze is so focused on his pursuit of unbelief that he fails to see anything around him, including the needs of Enoch (who is driven by instinct â€Å"wise blood†) and Sabbath. A satiric note is sounded in Chapter 7, which can serve as a microcosm of the novel, when Sabbath receives a letter from Mary Brittle (note the symbolic nature of the name) who advises Sabbath â€Å" Perhaps you ought to re-examine your religious values to see if they meet your needs in Life. In such situation, use of electronic medical record (EHR) has also been encouraged by health care service to enhance patient safety and quality of care. Nurses are at risk of burnout when they have to work overtime along with longer shifts. Rotating shifts between day and night increases the risk of fatigue and burnout in nurses. For an individual nurse, burn out leads to demotivation, emotional exhaustion and poor performance in staffs. Apart from job dissatisfaction and high nursing turnover rate, burnout is also significantly increasing the patients dissatisfaction with care. This is because shift timing of nurses and patients outcome have interrelation. Burnout becomes a threat to patient safety when depersonalization among nurses leads to poor engagement with patients. There is more chances of detachment from work which further lead to the development of negative attitude towards patients. All this factors result in patient dissatisfaction with health care service. The literature study showed that increase in patient dissatisfaction was high when larger number of nurses worked more than 13 hours (Stimpfel et al. 2012, pp.2501-2509). Hence, this evidence suggest that patients are less satisfied with care due to burnout issues in nurses. High-level of burnout was also associated with more incidence of medical error which posed risk to safety of patient. One study suggested that burnout was associated with lower patient safety grade and increase in therapeutic errors (Hall et al. 2016). Another study gave the indication that burnout among nurses has an impact on patient safety and proportion of patient adverse events. The cross-sectional survey with nurses regarding the work environment quality of care, job outcomes and patient adverse events showed that exhaustion along with depersonalization is an important predictor of nursing performance, quality of care and patient outcomes. To avoid creating situations that unnecessary exposes patients to quality and safety related issues, it is necessary to improve the work environment of nurses and reduce their burden in task (Van Bogaert et al., 2014). All these three elements are indicators of burnout. Emotional exhaustion measures the level of emotional exhaustion due to work, depersonalization measures impersonal response towards work responsibilities and personal accomplishment determines the feeling of competence in work. Burnout is defined by high score in all the subscales of the inve ntory. This tool is widely used in research studies to evaluate level of burnout in health care staffs and take adequate steps to address burnout issues (Bria et al. 2014). CBI is the a new tool for measuring burnout which uses three scales which is the personal, work and client related burnout (Demerouti et al. 2010, p.209). Based on the score on each areas, the issue can be addressed by increasing motivation in staffs by providing flexible work timing, giving regular breaks and providing them staffs power to engage in decision making. This will motivate staffs to seriously engage in their care priorities and establish therapeutic relationship with patients. Apart from risk assessment regarding the prevalence of burnout issues in nurse, several surveillance and monitoring procedure has been implemented in health care setting to reduce burnout and improve the quality of care. One of the strategies that have been adapted in high intensity setting is building resilience of nurse to reduce burnout among nurses. This is based on creating a healthy work environment and improving resilience of nurses. This goes in parallel with improving retention rates and reducing nursing turnover rate (McGowan and Murray 2016). Similar strategy was tested in a research study in which nurses working in high intensity units of hospitals were assessed regarding burnout, moral distress and resilience through 6 survey tools. This revealed that moral distress was a major predictor of burnout and nurses who have greater resilience achieves higher score in personal accomplishment. These nurses were confident about their competence level in the job. Spiritual weel be ing reduce emotional exhaustion whereas the physical well-being lead to personal accomplishments. Hence, development of strategies to reduce nurses vulnerability to emotional exhaustion will help in addressing issue of burnout and promoting patient safety and quality of care (Rushton et al. 2015). Effective communication is a key attribute to enhance patients satisfaction with care and provide them best care experience in hospital setting. It helps to overcome cultural barrier to care delivery and manage conflict in nursing practice (Campinha-Bacote 2011). In relation to the issue of burnout experienced by nurses, they can work to overcome this issue by means of self-evaluation and coping strategies. Reduced professional efficacy is seen due to inefficiency in work and lack of success in professional roles. This is the cause of burnout and creates the condition for occupational hazard among nurses. Core self-evaluation is emerging as a positive concept to modify personal and increase self-efficacy and self-esteem of nurses in practice. Active coping strategy is to modify the nature of stressor instead of just thinking about it, whereas passive coping strategy is to engage in alcohl use or withdrawal from the pressure to address stressful events. However, passive coping is not the solution because it causes more risk to nurses both in terms of personal and professional context (Monter et al. 2014). Hence, use of active coping style is recommended for nurses to mitigate the negative impact of stressors and develop the skill to react to difficult situations. This will be an effective step to prevent burnout and improve nursing performance. Implication and recommendation to improve practice Nursing performance can be enhanced by building their resilience skill to manage stress in the job. This will help them to cope with job pressure and handle complex clinical situation and workload. Debriefing sessions can also be helpful for nurse to learn the ways to avoid burnout and judiciously handle complex clinical task. Life Span Development In the book, ?Curious George rides a bike? by H.A. Rey, George receives a new bike from his friend. His friend tells him to be careful with his new bike and to keep close to the house while he is gone. George does not listen to his friend and decides to go exploring away from the house. While exploring, George sees two boys playing with their toy boats and then decides that he wants to play with a toy boat. George made a plan (how to make the boat) and then he carried out the task. George made himself a boat out of newspaper. This is an example of stage two, 1-3 years, Erikson. ?In stage two, children express their growing self control by climbing, touching, exploring, and try to do things for themselves.? (Dennis Coon) Though most children in stage two would be exploring their kitchen floor, or ceiling, not a river! I also read the story, ?Curious George gets a medal? by H.A. Rey. In this story George makes a mess in his friends house. George is anxious to clean up the mess before his friend gets home. The reason that he is so eager to clean up the mess is because he is thinking about the possible consequences of his actions. If this were an actual little boy, he would be thinking, ? I don't want to get punished, so I will clean up the mess.? Or, ?Oh, No! I'm going to get into big trouble!? This is an example of Stage 1 the preconventional level, Kohlberg. If his friend weren't coming home would George work so vigorously to clean up the mess? I think not. In the second half of the book, George is asked to help a professor in a somewhat dangerous experiment. George tried to fly, and fell into the ocean instead. Obviously, George is not thinking logically. He does not realize that he can not fly. This is an example of the preoperational stage, 2-7 years. Piaget. I have another example of the preoperational stage not related to the book. My little sister, Zo?, is 4 years old. My mother recently bought her a personalized song tape. In the beginning of the tape it asks her to yell out her name. She screams, ?Zo?!!?. Then it says ?Zo! That's a nice name!? Throughout the tape her name is included in all of the songs. She thinks that the person talking can really here her! Now, getting back on track?. After falling into the ocean George is rescued and once again promises that he will not get into any more trouble. Why would an actual child decide this if he/she were in the same situation? They would act this way because they would be thinking about their own needs. They wouldn't want to fall into the water again or be upset in any way. This is an example of stage two, the preconventional stage, pleasure-seeking orientation. In conclusion, I have found these stages to hold true, in my own personal life, and in children's storybooks. It's really great to finally understand why my little sister acts the way she does!

It is where the leaders are apparent to play a principle role in inspiring their employees by implicating various tactics of motivation. All these objectives have been attained by using some effective techniques of research with valid and reliable set of findings that are proven to be successful for this survey. Wherein, the benefits of the incurred outcomes of this research is evident to support the organisation named ASDA in determining such vital roles of their leaders that are effective in creating a sense of motivation in their workers. However, there existed certain difficulties in carrying out this investigation where the respondents were not willing to interact with each another in a smooth manner. Apart from which, this has also reflected to be a slight time consuming study with less number of secondary resources. Along with which, the surveyor was also not well versed to work on excel with less experience in conducting such studies. 3.2 Using appropriate research evaluation techniques and interpreting and analysing the results in terms of the original research specification Theme 1- A major number of responders are evident to work from a longer time period in ASDA. Interpretation: This is on interpreting the outcome of above carried analysis in order to determine the existent time period of the employers working in ASDA who has hereby represented as the respondents of the study. In context to which, it has been found that almost all responders are working from a considerable time period and are well experienced in their field. Wherein, 2 of them are employed with ASDA from last 3 years and 1 of them is occupied since 5 years and another 1 is working here for more than 5 years. Theme 2- Almost all respondents are agreed with the concept of close supervision for their subordinates. Interpretation: It is on referring to the above obtained data that has clearly depicted a united outlook of almost all the respondents that has been presented in context to a bestowed statement of close supervision of employers on their employees. With respect to which, 1 has represented a strong agreement towards it with another who is merely agreed to it. Whereas, there existed 2 such respondents who are at a neutral stage of acceptance for this statement. Theme 3- Majority of responders have not approved by the self motivation sense of their employees. Interpretation: On the basis of above conducted primary research, it has been found that only 1 out of 4 respondents are in favour of their self motivated employees. However, the other 3 have specified a clear no towards it
